Here in Texas, ya’ll, we don’t use the Common Core. Â We have TEKS as our curriculum. Â Then, within each district, most have their own curriculum. Â Mine uses CSCOPE.
Last year was my first year in a district that uses CSCOPE. Â I felt like I spent half of the year trying to figure out all the forms! (Can I get a shout out about the YAGs, IFDs, etc?!? Craziness!) This summer I was determined to tackle it!
The one area I felt like I didn’t teach well enough in Reading/Writing was grammar. Â My teammate said she wanted to incorporate grammar work into our morning work. Â I set off to make this little packet of Grammar Warm-Ups! It is aligned with 1st grade CSCOPE for the first six weeks and TEKS. Â There is a little warm up for every day. Â It starts of easy since the little ones will have difficulty at the beginning of the year. Â Plus, we are teaching so many procedures, even our mourning routine, I wanted it to begin easy.
