What’s Up In Our Classroom!!!

Hey all! I feel like I have neglected my little ‘ole blog with all of the craziness lately! I have been busy not only at school but at home, too.  Aggie football, church, friends, etc.  All great things that bring joy to my life, but sometimes they just make life crazy busy!

Here is some of what we have been doing and what we are working on this week.

We learned about “Reading with a Buddy” during Reader’s Workshop.   The kids have been doing a GREAT job of this and really seem to enjoy it!

Our reading bulletin board now is full of these anchor charts we created as a class.

Each kiddo got tested on the Kindergarten sight words to see who earned their super hero. (Read more about this here.)

My awesome teammate had an idea to add a pencil pouch to the Sight Word Super Hero system.

Look at what we keep inside! GENIUS IDEA!

This week we are working on graphing.  We made a shoe graph on Monday using our real shoes, then we transferred it to a pictograph.

Later this week we will have a GRAND OPENING of our library as their little hands will be allowed to touch the classroom library **GASP**!!  I have this little sign on our library to build up the anticipation! Click it to grab it if you can use it!

Also, I’m working on this little guy that I hope to have ready by the weekend! Here is a sneak peak! 🙂

Happy Teaching,

Amanda

    1. Thanks! You are too sweet! 🙂 It has really motivated my little ones. I haven’t even revealed the superhero yet and my kids are on the edge of their seat just begging me to tell them!
