Thanksgiving Fun Coming Up!

I love this time of year! Thanksgiving and Christmas are both just around the corner.  I am one of those people that my drives my husband crazy.  The red Starbucks cups come out, the cooler weather is sticking around longer, and so what else do I do?? Naturally, I listen to Christmas music!

I. Love. Christmas Music! Today at my trip to Target to return a few things and grab some groceries, I left with this.

Anyway, with all of this fun coming up, I thought we would take a few days to discuss Thanksgiving in our classroom before we all get in over our heads in Christmas fun! (It may be too late for me!)

Next week we are going to discuss the differences between Thanksgiving then and Thanksgiving as we celebrate it now.

I have several friends this year who are ESL students.  We have to do a great deal of vocabulary building.  I decided to create some vocabulary cards.

We are going to spend some time learning about both the Native Americans and the Pilgrims, then we are going to compare and contrast them with ourselves.  I put together this little unit to help as we learn.
As a little added bonus, I also included my Turkey Writing Craftivity in this unit.
Anyway, I know this was a bunch of random.  From Christmas music to Turkey Craftivities!
I’ll be back tomorrow to link up with the fabulous bloggers at Blog Hoppin’ for a week of Thankfulness!
