Problem Solving Unit: Addition and Subtraction Story Problems

One of the toughest math skills for little ones is problem solving. My students struggled with this concept so I created this unit. This unit is perfect for whole group and small group instruction. I used parts of it for my initial teaching and the other parts I used in a small group format to reinforce skills.

This unit has story problems that add and subtract with basic 1st grade addition and subtraction. I use different phrasing throughout so that the students become familiar with choosing an operation.
