Just Clip It!- Blends Activities

When it comes to teaching phonics explicitly and systematically, as research proves is best, it took practice for me. It didn’t come naturally because I wasn’t taught that way and honestly, I don’t remember much of that instruction from college.  It took work.  I had to search for fun, engaging ways to introduce the concepts and to practice them.   Let’s chat a bit about blend activities.

These blend activities are the perfect way to practice blends phonics skills. The clip cards are great for fine motor practice, too.

One of my favorite ways is through music. This video by Jack Hartman is perfect for helping introduce the concept of blends.

I have also been creating work station and small group activities that are easy to implement and also help in the area of fine motor.  This work station activity is perfect for a word work station or for small group practice.

The prep was easy and the pattern for completing the task was simple for students to catch on to!

For the blends set, there are several cards and recording sheets.
